Veterans were awarded the honorary badge "In Honor of the 80th Anniversary of the Complete Liberation of Leningrad from the Fascist Blockade"
This year Russia celebrated a significant date in our history - the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade.
To this event by the resolution of the Government of St. Petersburg from 09.12.2022 № 1174 was established an award of the Government of St. Petersburg - a badge of honor "In honor of the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade".
On the eve of the great holiday - Victory Day - through the efforts of the Consulate General of Russia in Houston and concerned compatriots, our dear veterans, as a sign of immense gratitude not only for their heroic deeds at the front, but also for their struggle for life, were presented with the badge of honor "In honor of the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade", a certificate attached to it, and a gift.
These people experienced the hardships of the blockade life: hunger, cold, constant threat to life from bombing and shelling, fear, loss of loved ones. They still have a special mission: to remind the world of the tragedy of besieged Leningrad and the unparalleled feat of its defenders and inhabitants.
Honoring the veterans of the blockade, we bow low to them - to those who stood firm, survived, and won. We wish all those who survived the blockade good health, vigor of spirit and all the best.
No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten!
